Frequently asked questions

Q

Can I keep my rental overnight?

No. All rentals must be returned to us by 5:00 p.m. We put your safety first, so riding after sunset is never permitted.

Q

Can I rent a bike by the hour?

Yes! Just come by the shop in person since we accept reservations for daily rentals only.

Our hourly rates are:

Electric Bike
$15.00 per hour

Beach Cruiser
$8.00 per hour

Mountain Bike
$10.00 per hour

Tandem
$18.00 per hour

Q

Do I need to bring my helmet?

You don't need to, but you can. We provide helmets with every rental. Those under 18 must wear a helmet by law. Sometimes kids (big and small) are happier wearing their own helmet, so please bring it.

Q

How do I get to Catalina?

We are off the coast of Southern Calfornia. Come visit us by boat, helicopter or plane. You can find out more details by visiting the official site of Catalina Island. If you're looking for a place to stay, please consider our luxury condos: the Bahama Suite or the Contempo Suite.

Q

How long is a daily rental?

A daily rental is from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can pick up your bike whenever you would like, however.

Q

What kind of bike can I ride in the "interior" of the island?

You can rent one of our mountain bikes to explore the "interior" of the island. However, to do so, you must become a member of the Catalina Island Conservancy first.

Membership is $35/person or $65/couple for the year which entitles you to a bike pass.  The Conservancy requires you to have a mountain bike with knobby tires like ours and a helmet which we can provide. You can learn more and join here.

Please note that you can ride your mountain bike in Avalon without the pass.
